Should mother of the bride give a gift when proposal is made?

Our Thoughts

While there is not strict wedding etiquette about giving a proposal or engagement gift, this is certainly a nice gesture on your part.

A huge "Welcome to our family" followed by a hug is gift enough, but if you feel you would like to give the happy couple something beyond this by all means give away.
