I received my own invitation to my boyfriends daughters wedding does that mean I have to give my own gift?

In this case, you should definitely give a gift. One option that you have is to talk to your boyfriend and see if both of you would like to buy a gift for her together.

He may want to give his own gift, and in that case you should give them a gift of your own.
